Farmers' Cooperatives Union

(YCFCU) was established in June 2002 with 13 cooperatives. They now work with 28 Cooperative Unions with over 45,094 farmers.

YCFCU helps to directly connect the farmers to the customer. This allows the farmers to profit more from their green coffee than if they were to take it to the central market.

The washed process removes the traditional fermented flavor found in Yirgacheffee coffee and creates a lighter-bodied coffee bean.
